Military Training
In China, high-school and university freshmen are required to participate in a short-term military training program before they continue with their studies. Training is usually held in September and lasts for around 10 days, 8 hours/day. During the training sessions, students are supposed to learn about the hardworking and simple life of PLA (The Chinese People's Liberation Army), but what they end up learning is how to become physically fit, going through constant drills such as walking, running, sitting, standing, etc. Unfortunately, since the training program is in September, one of the hottest months of the year in China, many students are more vulnerable to fainting, and suffering from heatstroke brought on by the brutal training exercises demanded of them.
