Beijing Public Security Bureau offered 3 places in Beijing for protestation and they also admitted that they received 77 protest applications during the Games. Unluckily, none of the applications were approved. People thought those places were just set for show. But one of the officials clarify that everyone who wants to protest in China has to obey the laws in China no matter he is Chinese or foreigner.
Now the problem is what he means by "obey the laws". Who and how is going to judge that?
The last big protest in China that I know was in 1999 for the bomb in Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia. That is to obey the laws while those 77 application all disobey the laws?
I don't really hope the next big protest which is judged to obey the laws is for another Chinese foreign mission. Now the problem is what he means by "obey the laws". Who and how is going to judge that?
