Guangxi, Happy Birthday!
The 11th of December, 2008 Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of its founding. A public holiday has been declared throughout the region.
China consists of 23 provinces (including Taiwan), 4 municipalities (Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Tianjin), 2 Special Administrative Regions (SARs) (Hong Kong and Macau) and 5 Autonomous Regions (Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Tibet and Guangxi).
Prior to 1958, Guangxi was a province like all the others but, because of its high percentage of Zhuang people, at Zhou Enlai's prompting, it was given autonomous region status. In practice there is no autonomy. The only benefit is that the governor of the region must be a member of the Zhuang ethnic minority. However, the region's party secretary, who is more powerful, is always from the majority Han Chinese. The same applies in all autonomous regions. The local guy gets to be governor, but the real power stays firmly in the hands of the Han. Current Chinese president, Hu Jintao, born in Jiangsu in eastern China was the party secretary of Tibet.
It's a beautiful day; the city has been festooned with flags and lanterns. Schools, Government offices, most banks etc are all closed.

Frida + Alisha's Birthday Party
Happy birthday to my good friends, Frida and Alisha!^^
I was away from some of my friends for two weekends, busy with watching a goat slaughter in the Guilin countryside and some other things. Fortuntely, I was able to meet all of them this Friday, at a Kenyan girl---Frida and a Chinese girl---Alisha's birthday party.

I am glad I know Frida. She is a crazy girl and always brings me happiness. Every weekend she needs to get drunk otherwise she won't go to bed. During my hard time last month she helped me a lot and cheered me up. I recovered totally now but she is leaving for home soon. What a shame!
Alisha, I met one and half years ago. She was still a student at the time. Last semester we frequently played badminton with a Serbian guy and a Canadian girl here. Time flies. I can't believe that she is going to get married soon.

To Slaughter a Goat
Last Saturday I went to the countryside. I was lucky that I got to see the local villagers slaughter a goat.
First, they stick the knife into the front belly of the goat. Immediately, tons of blood gushed out.
Second, the butcher put the whole goat into boiling water.
Third, they sheared off the wool.
Fourth, butchered it.
In the end, it becomes the goat feast on your table.

"You are so cute!"
I enjoy bringing my guests to see pandas in the Panda Exhibit in Sever Star Park. But last Friday an accident happened there.
A 20-year-old student had ignored warning signs and scaled a two-metre (6.5ft) barrier to get into the pen. State media say the panda bit him on his arms and legs, and he had to be rescued by the animal's keepers. A worker at the park, quoted by the official Xinhua news agency, said there are clear signs warning visitors not to go beyond the fences for their own safety, "but the young man ignored them". The panda, Yang Yang, was apparently scared by the intruder and bit the man's arms and legs, he said.
"Yang Yang was so cute and I just wanted to cuddle him," he told Xinhua from his hospital bed." I didn't expect he would attack... I don't remember how many bites I got." Yang Yang - whose name means sun - is seven years old and weighs 80kg (176lb). Keepers said he had recovered from the incident and was eating and playing as normal.

Fengshui Update
It took a long time for this update because I wanted to confirm the magic of Fengshui before I wrote about it. Here goes!
Look at the first picture. There were two changes. My mother took away the curtain and she pasted window paper insteaded because the whole room needed more light. After my mother used a piece of paper to cover the cord on the ceiling. It is temporary fix. In the future she will bring a big paper to cover all of the cord.
This is the second picture. Currently, I sleep in this bunk. While the door is to the right of the bed. My mother used a big cloth block the front.
Thus, two problems has been solved.
CHANGES:
From that day forward, I start to change. Later that week, I figured out what I should do and what I shouldn't do.
I'm feeling better already. I start to be myself again. I start to join my colorful life again:-)
